West Michigan Aged White Pine Live Edge Bench / Coffee Table
I can't say how much fun this project was! From finding the wood, through finishing it was so cool to bring out the colors and to make something that is so unique and functional. We stumbled onto the wood at an older Amish gentleman's saw mill, as soon as Jenny saw it she knew that this was going to be something special. She was right...
This piece can be used as a porch or hallway bench or as a long coffee table. Even though the wood would fit into any rustic setting the contemporary style of the legs and clean lines would allow this piece to fit into almost any interior. The wood is 2-3/4" thick with a subtle finish. The amazing grain pattern is so full of color (from deep black through soft tan wood tones) is just a one of those pieces you want to use and show off to your family and friends. The base is a custom design as well crafted out of #11 gauge 3" tubular steel and powder coated in a satin black at a friend of the family's powder coated production facility.
